It is not the Lord’s purpose to reveal prophecy in as great plainness as the gospel and doctrine of Christ. Scripture prophecy refers to events that are to transpire in the Lord’s work; and it is not his purpose to reveal [this] in plainness…

Unfulfilled Prophecy
#1, The Plates of Brass are to Come unto the Native Americans, and the Gentiles;
And after they had given thanks unto the God of Israel, my father, Lehi, took the records which were engraven upon the plates of brass, and he did search them from the beginning… And now when my father saw all these things, he was filled with the Spirit, and began to prophesy concerning his seed—That these plates of brass should go forth unto all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people who were of his seed. Wherefore, he said that these plates of brass should never perish; neither should they be dimmed any more by time. —1st Nephi 5:17-19
And these plates of brass, which contain these engravings, which have the records of the holy scriptures upon them, which have the genealogy of our forefathers, even from the beginning—Behold, it has been prophesied by our fathers, that they should be kept and handed down from one generation to another, and be kept and preserved by the hand of the Lord until they should go forth unto every nation, kindred, tongue, and people, that they shall know of the mysteries contained thereon. —Alma 37:3-5
#2, The “branch broken off,” is the seed of Joseph (of Egypt), and is a similitude of the story of Joseph, who was forgotten about, until the day that he stood forth to take his throne as was his birthright, as is the Native American’s birthright, to save his brothers—the remaining tribes of the house of Israel.
[Blessing of his father, Jacob] Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall: The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him: But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:) Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb: The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren. —Genesis 49:22-26
[Nephi speaking to Laman and Lemuel] Behold, I say unto you, that the house of Israel was compared unto an olive tree, by the Spirit of the Lord which was in our father; and behold are we not broken off from the house of Israel, and are we not a branch of the house of Israel? —1st Nephi 15:13
And Joseph said unto his brethren… for the Lord hath visited me, and I have obtained a promise of the Lord, that out of the fruit of my loins, the Lord God will raise up a righteous branch out of my loins;… and a branch shall be broken off, and shall be carried into a far country; nevertheless they shall be remembered in the covenants of the Lord, when the Messiah cometh, for he shall be made manifest unto them in the latter days, in the Spirit of power; and shall bring them out of darkness into light; out of hidden darkness, and out of captivity unto freedom. —Genesis 50:24-25 (JST)
Wherefore, for this cause hath the Lord God promised unto me [Nephi] that these things which I write shall be kept and preserved, and handed down unto my seed, from generation to generation, that the promise may be fulfilled unto Joseph, that his seed should never perish as long as the earth should stand. —2nd Nephi 25:21
#3, The remnant Native American people were to fall into apostacy, which would usher in the Times of the Gentiles, to begin their recovery, and yet the Gentiles will fall short in this recovery, and will themselves fall into apostacy. And yet God is able to do his own work, to recover his people whom he forenew.
And now, the thing which our father meaneth concerning the grafting in of the natural branches through the fulness of the Gentiles, is, that in the latter days, when our seed shall have dwindled in unbelief, yea, for the space of many years, and many generations after the Messiah shall be manifested in body unto the children of men, then shall the fulness of the gospel of the Messiah come unto the Gentiles, and from the Gentiles unto the remnant of our seed—And at that day shall the remnant of our seed know that they are of the house of Israel, and that they are the covenant people of the Lord; and then shall they know and come to the knowledge of their forefathers, and also to the knowledge of the gospel of their Redeemer, which was ministered unto their fathers by him; wherefore, they shall come to the knowledge of their Redeemer and the very points of his doctrine, that they may know how to come unto him and be saved. —1st Nephi 15:14
And blessed are the Gentiles, because of their belief in me, in and of the Holy Ghost, which witnesses unto them of me and of the Father. Behold, because of their belief in me, saith the Father, and because of the unbelief of you, O house of Israel, in the latter day shall the truth come unto the Gentiles, that the fulness of these things shall be made known unto them. —3rd Nephi 16:6-7
At that day when the Gentiles shall sin against my gospel, and shall reject the fulness of my gospel, and shall be lifted up in the pride of their hearts above all nations, and above all the people of the whole earth, and shall be filled with all manner of lyings, and of deceits, and of mischiefs, and all manner of hypocrisy, and murders, and priestcrafts, and whoredoms, and of secret abominations; and if they shall do all those things [which they have, this is the Church], and shall reject the fulness of my gospel, behold, saith the Father, I will bring the fulness of my gospel from among them. And then will I remember my covenant which I have made unto my people, O house of Israel, and I will bring my gospel unto them. And I will show unto thee, O house of Israel, that the Gentiles shall not have power over you; but I will remember my covenant unto you, O house of Israel, and ye shall come unto the knowledge of the fulness of my gospel. —3rd Nephi 16:10-12
Wo be unto the Gentiles, saith the Lord God of Hosts! For notwithstanding I shall lengthen out mine arm unto them from day to day, they will deny me; nevertheless, I will be merciful unto them, saith the Lord God, if they will repent and come unto me; for mine arm is lengthened out all the day long, saith the Lord God of Hosts. —2nd Nephi 28:32
And when the times of the Gentiles is come in, a light shall break forth among them that sit in darkness, and it shall be the fulness of my gospel; But they receive it not; for they perceive not the light, and they turn their hearts from me because of the precepts of men. And in that generation shall the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled [to revert back to the times of Israel]. —D&C 45:28-30
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. —Romans 11:25
While I was thus in the act of calling upon God, I discovered a light appearing in my room, which continued to increase until the room was lighter than at noonday, when immediately a personage appeared at my bedside, standing in the air, for his feet did not touch the floor… He called me by name, and said unto me that he was a messenger sent from the presence of God to me, and that his name was Moroni; that God had a work for me to do… And he further stated that the fulness of the Gentiles was soon to come in. —Joseph Smith—History 1:30-41, Pearl of Great Price
#4, The Choice Seer will come to restore the house of Israel, something that the Gentiles failed to do
[Jesus speaking] And when these things come to pass that thy seed [Lehi’s seed] shall begin to know these things—it shall be a sign unto them, that they may know that the work of the Father hath already commenced unto the fulfilling of the covenant which he hath made unto the people who are of the house of Israel. And when that day shall come, it shall come to pass that kings shall shut their mouths; for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider. For in that day, for my sake shall the Father work a work, which shall be a great and a marvelous work among them; and there shall be among them those who will not believe it, although a man shall declare it unto them. But behold, the life of my servant shall be in my hand; therefore they shall not hurt him, although he shall be marred because of them. Yet I will heal him, for I will show unto them that my wisdom is greater than the cunning of the devil. —3rd Nephi 21:7-10
And thus prophesied Joseph, saying: Behold, that seer [choice seer mentioned earlier in the chapter] will the Lord bless; and they that seek to destroy him shall be confounded; for this promise, which I have obtained of the Lord, of the fruit of my loins, shall be fulfilled. Behold, I am sure of the fulfilling of this promise; And his name shall be called after me [Zaphenath-Paneah, in Genesis 41:45]; and it shall be after the name of his father [himself, Joseph of Egypt]. And he shall be like unto me; for the thing, which the Lord shall bring forth by his hand, by the power of the Lord shall bring my people [seed of Lehi] unto salvation. Yea, thus prophesied Joseph: I am sure of this thing, even as I am sure of the promise of Moses; for the Lord hath said unto me, I will preserve thy seed forever. —2nd Nephi 3:14-16
But behold, I prophesy unto you concerning the last days; concerning the days when the Lord God shall bring these things forth unto the children of men. After my seed and the seed of my brethren shall have dwindled in unbelief, and shall have been smitten by the Gentiles; yea, after the Lord God shall have camped against them round about, and shall have laid siege against them with a mount, and raised forts against them; and after they shall have been brought down low in the dust, even that they are not, yet the words of the righteous shall be written, and the prayers of the faithful shall be heard, and all those who have dwindled in unbelief shall not be forgotten. For those who shall be destroyed shall speak unto them out of the ground, and their speech shall be low out of the dust, and their voice shall be as one that hath a familiar spirit; for the Lord God will give unto him [the OMS] power, that he may whisper concerning them, even as it were out of the ground; and their speech shall whisper out of the dust. For thus saith the Lord God: They shall write the things which shall be done among them, and they shall be written and sealed up in a book [Book of the Remnant], and those who have dwindled in unbelief shall not have them, for they seek to destroy the things of God. —2nd Nephi 26:14-17
And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob. For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. —Romans 11:26-27
Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH… and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day. —Zechariah 3:8
And it came to pass that the Lord of the vineyard sent his servant; and the servant went and did as the Lord had commanded him, and brought other servants; and they were few. —Jacob 5:70
And it shall come to pass that I, the Lord God, will send one mighty and strong, holding the scepter of power in his hand, clothed with light for a covering, whose mouth shall utter words, eternal words; while his bowels shall be a fountain of truth, to set in order the house of God, and to arrange by lot the inheritances of the saints whose names are found, and the names of their fathers, and of their children, enrolled in the book of the law of God; While that man, who was called of God and appointed, that putteth forth his hand to steady the ark of God, shall fall by the shaft of death, like as a tree that is smitten by the vivid shaft of lightning. —D&C 85:7-8
What is the rod spoken of in the first verse of the 11th chapter of Isaiah, that should come of the Stem of Jesse? Behold, thus saith the Lord: It is a servant in the hands of Christ, who is partly a descendant of Jesse as well as of Ephraim, or of the house of Joseph, on whom there is laid much power. What is the root of Jesse spoken of in the 10th verse of the 11th chapter? Behold, thus saith the Lord, it is a descendant of Jesse, as well as of Joseph, unto whom rightly belongs the priesthood, and the keys of the kingdom, for an ensign, and for the gathering of my people in the last days. —D&C 113:3-6
#5, The Lord setting his hand a second time to restore his people is NOT the Times of the Gentiles. The restoration spoken of is restoring the seed of Lehi, for which the Gentiles failed to do; restoring Lehi’s seed is the marvelous work and wonder.
And the Lord will set his hand again the second time to restore his people [Lehi’s seed] from their lost and fallen state. Wherefore, he will proceed to do a marvelous work and a wonder among the children of men. —2nd Nephi 25:17
But behold, there shall be many—at that day when I shall proceed to do a marvelous work among them, that I may remember my covenants which I have made unto the children of men, that I may set my hand again the second time to recover my people, which are of the house of Israel; And also, that I may remember the promises which I have made unto thee, Nephi, and also unto thy father, that I would remember your seed; and that the words of your [Nephi’s] seed [including OMS] should proceed forth out of my mouth unto your seed; and my words shall hiss forth unto the ends of the earth, for a standard unto my people, which are of the house of Israel; —2nd Nephi 29:1-2
Wherefore, they that fight against Zion and the covenant people of the Lord shall lick up the dust of their feet; and the people of the Lord shall not be ashamed. For the people of the Lord are they who wait for him; for they still wait for the coming of the Messiah. And behold, according to the words of the prophet, the Messiah will set himself again the second time to recover them; wherefore, he will manifest himself unto them in power and great glory, unto the destruction of their enemies, … for the Mighty God shall deliver his covenant people. —2nd Nephi 6:13-17
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel… —Isaiah 11:11-12
And the day that he shall set his hand again the second time to recover his people, is the day, yea, even the last time, that the servants of the Lord shall go forth in his power, to nourish and prune his vineyard; and after that the end soon cometh. —Jacob 6:2
And because that I have preserved the natural branches and the roots thereof, and that I have grafted in the natural branches again into their mother tree, and have preserved the roots of their mother tree, that, perhaps, the trees of my vineyard may bring forth again good fruit; and that I may have joy again in the fruit of my vineyard, and, perhaps, that I may rejoice exceedingly that I have preserved the roots and the branches of the first fruit— —Jacob 5:60
Jacob 6: A Powerful Plea
1 And now, behold, my brethren, as I said unto you that I would prophesy, behold, this is my prophecy—that the things which this prophet Zenos spake, concerning the house of Israel, in the which he likened them unto a tame olive tree, must surely come to pass.
2 And the day that he shall set his hand again the second time to recover his people, is the day, yea, even the last time, that the servants of the Lord shall go forth in his power, to nourish and prune his vineyard; and after that the end soon cometh.
3 And how blessed are they who have labored diligently in his vineyard; and how cursed are they who shall be cast out into their own place! And the world shall be burned with fire.
4 And how merciful is our God unto us, for he remembereth the house of Israel, both roots and branches; and he stretches forth his hands unto them all the day long; and they are a stiffnecked and a gainsaying people; but as many as will not harden their hearts shall be saved in the kingdom of God.
5 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, I beseech of you in words of soberness that ye would repent, and come with full purpose of heart, and cleave unto God as he cleaveth unto you. And while his arm of mercy is extended towards you in the light of the day, harden not your hearts.
6 Yea, today, if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts; for why will ye die?
7 For behold, after ye have been nourished by the good word of God all the day long, will ye bring forth evil fruit, that ye must be hewn down and cast into the fire?
8 Behold, will ye reject these words? Will ye reject the words of the prophets; and will ye reject all the words which have been spoken concerning Christ, after so many have spoken concerning him; and deny the good word of Christ, and the power of God, and the gift of the Holy Ghost, and quench the Holy Spirit, and make a mock of the great plan of redemption, which hath been laid for you?
9 Know ye not that if ye will do these things, that the power of the redemption and the resurrection, which is in Christ, will bring you to stand with shame and awful guilt before the bar of God?
10 And according to the power of justice, for justice cannot be denied, ye must go away into that lake of fire and brimstone, whose flames are unquenchable, and whose smoke ascendeth up forever and ever, which lake of fire and brimstone is endless torment.
11 O then, my beloved brethren, repent ye, and enter in at the strait gate, and continue in the way which is narrow, until ye shall obtain eternal life.
12 O be wise; what can I say more?
13 Finally, I bid you farewell, until I shall meet you before the pleasing bar of God, which bar striketh the wicked with awful dread and fear. Amen.

True Points of the Doctrine of Christ
#6, The Native Americans are to be recovered unto the true doctrine of Christ to fulfill the Lord’s covenant unto them, that they may be restored, and become a white and delightsome people
Surely he hath blessed the house of Jacob, and hath been merciful unto the seed of Joseph [Native Americans]. And insomuch as the children of Lehi have kept his commandments he hath blessed them and prospered them according to his word. Yea, and surely shall he again bring a remnant of the seed of Joseph to the knowledge of the Lord their God. —3rd Nephi 5:20-23
Wherefore, the fruit of thy loins [Joseph of Egypt] shall write; and the fruit of the loins of Judah shall write; and that which shall be written by the fruit of thy loins, and also that which shall be written by the fruit of the loins of Judah, shall grow together, unto the confounding of false doctrines and laying down of contentions, and establishing peace among the fruit of thy loins, and bringing them to the knowledge of their fathers in the latter days, and also to the knowledge of my covenants, saith the Lord. —2nd Nephi 3:12
And now, because of their [Lamanites] steadfastness when they do believe in that thing which they do believe, for because of their firmness when they are once enlightened [people of Ammon], behold, the Lord shall bless them and prolong their days, notwithstanding their iniquity—Yea, even if they should dwindle in unbelief the Lord shall prolong their days, until the time shall come which hath been spoken of by our fathers, and also by the prophet Zenos [Jacob 5], and many other prophets, concerning the restoration of our brethren, the Lamanites, again to the knowledge of the truth—Yea, I say unto you, that in the latter times the promises of the Lord have been extended to our brethren, the Lamanites; and notwithstanding the many afflictions which they shall have, and notwithstanding they shall be driven to and fro upon the face of the earth, and be hunted, and shall be smitten and scattered abroad, having no place for refuge, the Lord shall be merciful unto them. And this is according to the prophecy, that they shall again be brought to the true knowledge, which is the knowledge of their Redeemer, and their great and true shepherd, and be numbered among his sheep. —Helaman 15:10-13
And after I, Enos, had heard these words, my faith began to be unshaken in the Lord; and I prayed unto him with many long strugglings for my brethren, the Lamanites… And now behold, this was the desire which I desired of him—that if it should so be, that my people, the Nephites, should fall into transgression, and by any means be destroyed, and the Lamanites should not be destroyed, that the Lord God would preserve a record of my people, the Nephites; even if it so be by the power of his holy arm, that it might be brought forth at some future day unto the Lamanites, that, perhaps, they might be brought unto salvation— … And it came to pass that after I had prayed and labored with all diligence, the Lord said unto me: I will grant unto thee according to thy desires, because of thy faith… And the Lord said unto me: Thy fathers have also required of me this thing; and it shall be done unto them according to their faith; for their faith was like unto thine. —Enos 1:11, 13, 12, 18 in that order
And then shall the remnant of our [Lehi’s] seed know concerning us, how that we came out from Jerusalem, and that they are descendants of the Jews. And the gospel of Jesus Christ shall be declared among them; wherefore, they shall be restored unto the knowledge of their fathers, and also to the knowledge of Jesus Christ, which was had among their fathers. And then shall they rejoice; for they shall know that it is a blessing unto them from the hand of God; and their scales of darkness shall begin to fall from their eyes; and many generations shall not pass away among them, save they shall be a white and a delightsome people. —2nd Nephi 30:4-6 (1907 Book of Mormon)
Behold I am Jesus Christ the Son of the living God, which created the heavens and the earth; a light which cannot be hid in darkness: wherefore, I must bring forth the fulness of my gospel from the Gentiles unto the house of Israel (Indians). —Book of Commandments (1833) 7:5, D&C 14:9-10
Nevertheless, my work shall go forth and accomplish my purposes, for as the knowledge of a Savior has come into the world, even so shall the knowledge of my people, the Nephites, and the Jacobites, and the Josephites, and the Zoramites, come to the knowledge of the Lamanites, and the Lemuelites and the Ishmaelites, which dwindled in unbelief, because of the iniquities of their fathers, who have been suffered to destroy their brethren, because of their iniquities, and their abominations: and for this very purpose are these plates preserved which contain these records, that the promises of the Lord might be fulfilled, which he made to his people; and that the Lamanites might come to the knowledge of their fathers, and that they might know the promises of the Lord, and that they may believe the gospel and rely upon the merits of Jesus Christ, and be glorified through faith in his name; and that through their repentance they might be saved: Amen. —1833 Book of Commandments (1833) 3:6, D&C 3:16-20
#7, The Native American people, or seed of Lehi, are to be the only seed of Joseph that exists to fulfill the prophecy. There is no other seed of Joseph left behind, who came to Europe and then migrated to America.
Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the firstborn; but, forasmuch as he defiled his father’s bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright [reckoned in the stick of Judah, because Joseph went over the wall, into a far country, separate from his brethren]. For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph’s:) —1st Chronicles 5:1-2
Moroni said unto them: Behold, we are a remnant of the seed of Jacob; yea, we are a remnant of the seed of Joseph, whose coat was rent by his brethren into many pieces; yea, and now behold, let us remember to keep the commandments of God, or our garments shall be rent by our brethren, and we be cast into prison, or be sold, or be slain. Yea, let us preserve our liberty as a remnant of Joseph; yea, let us remember the words of Jacob, before his death, for behold, he saw that a part of the remnant of the coat of Joseph was preserved and had not decayed. And he said—Even as this remnant of garment of my son hath been preserved, so shall a remnant of the seed of my son be preserved by the hand of God, and be taken unto himself, while the remainder of the seed of Joseph shall perish, even as the remnant of his garment. —Alma 46:23-24
#8, By and large LDS Church members are Gentiles, and NOT the seed of Ephraim or Manasseh (Joseph). Their ancestors were not in the ship that sailed over with Lehi. The Doctrine & Covenants was a book written to the Gentiles during the Times of the Gentiles; these were supposed to have care of the house of Israel, and were to carry only custodial (temporary) rights.
And now behold, this I speak unto their seed, and also to the Gentiles who have care for the house of Israel, that realize and know from whence their blessings come. —Mormon 5:10
[Prayer of Joseph Smith] Now these words, O Lord, we have spoken before thee, concerning the revelations and commandments which thou hast given unto us, who are identified with the Gentiles. But thou knowest that thou hast a great love for the children of Jacob [Israel], who have been scattered upon the mountains for a long time, in a cloudy and dark day [Native Americans]. —D&C 109:60-62
And again, verily I say unto you, it is wisdom and expedient in me, that my servant John Johnson whose offering I have accepted, and whose prayers I have heard, unto whom I give a promise of eternal life inasmuch as he keepeth my commandments from henceforth—For he is a descendant of Joseph and a partaker of the blessings of the promise made unto his fathers— [Joseph Smith makes special mention of this, but it applies to no other person mentioned in the D&C since they were all Gentiles, and this was during the Times of the Gentiles] —D&C 96:6-7
Behold, I sent you out to testify and warn the people, and it becometh every man who hath been warned to warn his neighbor… Therefore, tarry ye, and labor diligently, that you may be perfected in your ministry to go forth among the Gentiles for the last time, as many as the mouth of the Lord shall name, to bind up the law and seal up the testimony, and to prepare the saints for the hour of judgment which is to come; —D&C 88:81-84
#9, The Native Americans will build both the latter-day temple, and the city of the New Jerusalem
Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH [OMS]; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the Lord: Even he shall build the temple of the Lord; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne; —Zechariah 6:12-13
And they [Gentiles] shall assist my people, the remnant of Jacob, and also as many of the house of Israel as shall come, that they may build a city, which shall be called the New Jerusalem. And then shall they [Gentiles, see earlier in the chapter] assist my people that they may be gathered in, who are scattered upon all the face of the land, in unto the New Jerusalem. —3rd Nephi 21:23-24
[Moroni speaking] …after the waters had receded from off the face of this land [America, USA] it became a choice land above all other lands, a chosen land of the Lord; wherefore the Lord would have that all men should serve him who dwell upon the face thereof; And that it was the place of the New Jerusalem, which should come down out of heaven [part of the New Jerusalem will be composed of the city of Enoch], and the holy sanctuary of the Lord. Behold, Ether saw the days of Christ, and he spake concerning a New Jerusalem upon this land… And that a New Jerusalem should be built up upon this land, unto the remnant of the seed of Joseph (Native Americans), for which things there has been a type. For as Joseph brought his father down into the land of Egypt, even so he died there; wherefore, the Lord brought a remnant of the seed of Joseph out of the land of Jerusalem, that he might be merciful unto the seed of Joseph that they should perish not, even as he was merciful unto the father of Joseph that he should perish not. Wherefore, the remnant of the house of Joseph shall be built upon this land; and it shall be a land of their inheritance; and they shall build up a holy city unto the Lord, like unto the Jerusalem of old; and they shall no more be confounded, until the end come when the earth shall pass away. And there shall be a new heaven and a new earth; and they shall be like unto the old save the old have passed away, and all things have become new. And then cometh the New Jerusalem; and blessed are they who dwell therein, for it is they whose garments are white through the blood of the Lamb; and they are they who are numbered among the remnant of the seed of Joseph, who were of the house of Israel. —Ether 13:2-10
And it shall come to pass in the last days, when the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains… —2nd Nephi 12:2
And now I say unto you, that it is not revealed, and no man knoweth where the City [of Zion] shall be built [at that time], but it shall be given hereafter. Behold, I say unto you, that it shall be among the Lamanites. —Original text of the Book of Commandments, precursor to the D&C (“Ezra Booth Letter,” Ohio Star Nov. 29, 1831.)
#10, The Land of America belongs to both the Native Americans, and the Gentiles
Wherefore, I, Lehi, have obtained a promise, that inasmuch as those whom the Lord God shall bring out of the land of Jerusalem shall keep his commandments, they shall prosper upon the face of this land; and they shall be kept from all other nations, that they may possess this land unto themselves. And if it so be that they shall keep his commandments they shall be blessed upon the face of this land [America, USA], and there shall be none to molest them, nor to take away the land of their inheritance; and they shall dwell safely forever. —2nd Nephi 1:7-9
They [Israel] were once a delightsome people, and they had Christ for their shepherd; yea, they were led even by God the Father. But now, behold, they are led about by Satan, even as chaff is driven before the wind, or as a vessel is tossed about upon the waves, without sail or anchor, or without anything wherewith to steer her; and even as she is, so are they. And behold, the Lord hath reserved their blessings, which they might have received in the land, for the Gentiles who shall possess the land. —Mormon 5:17-19
[Jesus speaking to the 12 disciples of the seed of Lehi] Ye are my disciples; and ye are a light unto this people, who are a remnant of the house of Joseph. And behold, this is the land of your inheritance; and the Father hath given it unto you. —3rd Nephi 15:12-13
#11, One who is of the house of Israel has a preparatory redemption, and carries with him the priesthood, or authority of God, but NOT TRUE for a Gentile, who must have the priesthood conferred upon him
And this is the manner after which they [house of Israel] were ordained—being called and prepared from the foundation of the world [pre-existence]… —being called with a holy calling, and ordained with a holy ordinance, and taking upon them the high priesthood of the holy order, which calling, and ordinance, and high priesthood, is without beginning or end—Thus they become high priests forever, after the order of the Son [in the pre-existence]… Now, as I said concerning the holy order, or this high priesthood, there were many who were ordained and became high priests of God; and it was on account of their exceeding faith and repentance, and their righteousness before God, they choosing to repent and work righteousness rather than to perish; Therefore they were called after this holy order, and were sanctified, and their garments were washed white through the blood of the Lamb [all in the pre-existence, or “called and prepared from the foundation of the world.”]. —Alma 13:3-11
The order of this priesthood was confirmed to be handed down from father to son, and rightly belongs to the literal descendants of the chosen seed, to whom the promises were made. This order was instituted in the days of Adam, and came down by lineage… —D&C 107:40-41
Therefore, thus saith the Lord unto you, with whom the priesthood hath continued through the lineage of your fathers [house of Israel]—For ye are lawful heirs, according to the flesh, and have been hid from the world with Christ in God—Therefore your life and the priesthood have remained, and must needs remain through you and your lineage until the restoration of all things spoken by the mouths of all the holy prophets since the world began. —D&C 86:8-10
Questions by Elias Higbee: What is meant by the command in Isaiah, 52d chapter, 1st verse, which saith: Put on thy strength, O Zion—and what people had Isaiah reference to? He had reference to those whom God should call in the last days, who should hold the power of priesthood to bring again Zion, and the redemption of Israel; and to put on her strength is to put on the authority of the priesthood, which she, Zion, has a right to by lineage; also to return to that power which she had lost. —D&C 113:7-8
[God speaking to Abraham] And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee above measure, and make thy name great among all nations, and thou shalt be a blessing unto thy seed after thee, that in their hands they shall bear this ministry and Priesthood unto all nations; And I will bless them through thy name; for as many as receive this Gospel shall be called after thy name, and shall be accounted thy seed, and shall rise up and bless thee, as their father; And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse them that curse thee; and in thee (that is, in thy Priesthood) and in thy seed (that is, thy Priesthood), for I give unto thee a promise that this right shall continue in thee, and in thy seed after thee (that is to say, the literal seed, or the seed of the body [sperm]) shall all the families of the earth be blessed, even with the blessings of the Gospel, which are the blessings of salvation, even of life eternal. —Abraham 2:9-11
Also, Hebrews 7 speaks of both the ways of receiving the priesthood—one of descent (house of Israel), and one without descent (Gentiles). Set up an appointment with me, and we can discuss it further. Melchizedek (Japheth) was the father of the Gentiles.
#12, Ephraim, the original birthright inheritor (although younger than Manasseh) lost his birthright, as commonly happens (i.e. Esau to Jacob, Reuben to Joseph), to Manasseh. The marvelous work and wonder begins with the recovery of Manasseh, who are about a tenth the size of Ephraim. After the recovery of Manasseh and the other tribes, Ephraim will then be recovered (along with the Jews).
[A blessing of Moses upon the tribe of Joseph before departing] And of Joseph he said, Blessed of the Lord be his land, for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath, And for the precious fruits brought forth by the sun, and for the precious things put forth by the moon, And for the chief things of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the lasting hills, And for the precious things of the earth and fulness thereof, and for the good will of him that dwelt in the bush: let the blessing come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the top of the head of him that was separated from his brethren. His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh. —Deuteronomy 33:13-17
And they [Gentiles] shall assist my people [Manasseh], the remnant of Jacob, and also as many of the house of Israel as shall come, that they may build a city, which shall be called the New Jerusalem. —3rd Nephi 21:23
And then shall the work of the Father commence at that day, even when this gospel shall be preached among the remnant of this people [Ephraim]. —3rd Nephi 21:26
Notice all of 3rd Nephi 21 concerns the tribe of Joseph with the Gentiles assisting, but then beginning in v. 26 it all happens again. This chapter describes two conversions, or two migrations of Native Americans to the New Jerusalem, first Manasseh, which is the tribe of the OMS, then Ephraim.
The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle. They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law; —Psalm 78:6-10
I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for now, O Ephraim, thou committest whoredom, and Israel is defiled. —Hosea 5:3
Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which shall surely be. —Hosea 5:9
Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the commandment. Therefore will I be unto Ephraim as a moth, —Hosea 5:11-12
I have seen an horrible thing in the house of Israel: there is the whoredom of Ephraim, Israel is defiled. —Hosea 6:10
When I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was discovered… —Hosea 7:1
Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned. —Hosea 7:8
Ephraim also is like a silly dove without heart: they call to Egypt, they go to Assyria. —Hosea 7:11
For they are gone up to Assyria, a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers. —Hosea 8:9
Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin. —Hosea 8:11
They shall not dwell in the Lord’s land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean things in Assyria. —Hosea 9:3
The watchman of Ephraim was with my God: but the prophet is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God. —Hosea 9:8
As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird, from the birth, and from the womb, and from the conception. —Hosea 9:11
Many more such references are mentioned in the book of Hosea. It may be of interest to know that the Church of Christ, Bickertonites, who believe in the Book of Mormon, have it as their official doctrine that Ephraim did lose his birthright to Manasseh.
It also may be helpful to know that Joseph Smith called the Book of Mormon the Stick of Ephraim:
[Jesus Christ speaking] Behold, this is wisdom in me; wherefore, marvel not, for the hour cometh that I will drink of the fruit of the vine with you on the earth, and with Moroni, whom I have sent unto you to reveal the Book of Mormon, containing the fulness of my everlasting gospel, to whom I have committed the keys of the record of the stick of Ephraim; —D&C 27:5
The Book of Mormon, thus, pertains to Ephraim who will come into the New Jerusalem with the second migration of Indians (tribe of Joseph), after the New Jerusalem is already set up. Also note that the Book of Mormon has not had the effect of producing the marvelous work and wonder among the Native Americans. The Book of the Remnant, the sealed book which magnifies and gives poignant meaning to the Book of Mormon, will.
The stick of Manasseh is the Book of the Remnant, which pertains to the Indians who are the birthright tribe of Manasseh, are the front-line of God’s servants today in which righteous Gentiles will be adopted into, and will save the remainder of the house of Israel, his brothers; will thus build the temple and the New Jerusalem, working along with the city of Enoch.
It is worth noting that the New Jerusalem will not contain a temple, but the temple will be built in the Land of the First Inheritance:
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. —Revelation 21:2
And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. —Revelation 21:22
